Jason Horner, is one of the most familiar faces at the market. A co-founder and the first chairperson, not only has he been there from start, but he also continues to be a driving force in keeping alive the co-operative spirit amongst the stall-holders.
From March to December, Jason sells delicious seasonal, organic vegetables, which he grows on his 2.5 acre small holding in Crusheen. He also sells eggs. Some of Jason’s produce is grown in poly tunnels, but much is grown outdoors. As well as selling at the farmers market most of the year, Jason also teaches organic farming.
He appreciates the loyalty that his customers have shown over the years. “I started selling vegetables at the Saturday market in Ennis back in 1998, moved to Friday once the Ennis Farmers Market got off the ground and most of my customers stayed with me. I am very grateful for their continued support over the years.
